Duke vs. Wake Forest

I'll drink to that. This team should finally get Wake another Final Four. They are definitely good enough. Smith was the other guy who lit us up last year. When you have two guards that fast with the ball, and all those large athletes up front it's just a really hard team to guard. Throw in the fact that they are one of the best defensive teams in the country and they are a team that's only going to beat themselves. If Wake is on their game (and they left some on the court tonight, could have played better) who can stay with them? There aren't many teams out there that can match everything Wake can throw at you.

 

Duke missed key FTs tonight as well. As a Duke fan, this loss was not heartbreaking because of how they continued to fight back despite a lot of turnovers, poor shooting from beyond the arc and some ill advised shots late in the game.

 

Duke was 20-24....Nolan did miss the front end of a 1-1...but other than that, WF missed more to keep Duke in the game....

Wake was 2-10 from 3, Duke 4-22.

Duke 5 (not back considering they played small most of the game)


Game came down to Wake hitting some good shots and getting a good bounce here and there....1 vs 4 is what you expect.

 

Singler has been huge on the boards all year for Duke. That one-handed one in traffic late in the game was amazing. There was a lot to like as a Duke fan in this game. There was a lot not to like too.

 

there is always a lot to not like when you lose.

this team (Duke) has not found its offensive side yet...the D is there and I think K likes the fact that they are buying into that even though the O isnt working....THey have put together 1 good offensive game (Xavier) other than that the D has created the O and easy shots.

 

singler was impressive. tough place to go into and win, especially when they have good squad. very frustrating for the devils, you could see on K's face.

Now i know why the fans stormed the court on Wed night....they knew it would not last long!

 

I wouldn't say that, the ACC is a legit conference this year for the first time in a long time.

Wake overlooked GT. Tech has been in 3 overtime games this year and has been knocking on the 'W' door in every game. They're not nearly as bad as their 0-6 ACC record shows. It was a good game. GT deserved the win.
