This teams play and progress has been beyond anything I expected from this group this year. I, of course, did not expect 8-20 like a lot of nitwits nationally (and around this joint) did, but the way this team plays reminds me of the early 90's Dean Smith teams. It is going to be a pleasure to see these young men compete in this years ACC tournament and the NCAA's.

And next year, if Roy can integrate all the pieces well...the sky is the limit.

This is the least upset I have been after a Dook loss in forever.

I think you can make a good case that Noel Play is worst game at unc tonight.Tonight alt of time he look like he was Open to take the 3And he pass the ball and not take the open 3. I think Green was very good tonight i just he wish he Would look at the time and not Take a 2That won't do UNC any good

Sly was premature in his "Great win for a great team" comment.

He may say it now. Redick was an assasin.

Tough loss for the Heels tonight. The first half was well fought, and when I saw UNC had 11 offensive rebounds, I started to get nervous. They were shooting so bad, if they ever started making some shots Duke would be in trouble. The beginning of the second half was incredible. I've never seen a UNC team come out like that after a halftime, four straight turnovers, 6 or 7 in that span, and the lead ballons to 17. Man, what a scrappy comeback. When we were down four I thought we were going to lose. JJ is having an all-time season, singlehandedly putting us on his back. I called his TO though, I knew if UNC pressured him and made him put it on the floor he'd throw it out of bounds. He did the same thing against FSU last game, not a good habit to see especially if you start thinking about Trajan and his habit of to's at the end of game situations, most famously against UConn in the Finals but had done a few times before as well. JJ has better handles than TL did, but they aren't flawless, and he tends to make bad decisions in the end game sometimes, he nearly did it twice.

The freshmen really stepped it up for us tonight. Paulus understandably started off rocky, but he had a solid second half, made a big shot for us in the 36-14 UNC run, and stepped up and knocked down his FTs. Josh McRoberts had perhaps a breakout game, if not for his foul troubles he could have gone 20/10. His two fts late too contrasted against Tyler's misses at the line in the clutch. Hansbrough played well, rebounded like a monster, but was virtually ignored in the first half. He rarely even got the ball in the post, seemed like a lot of his baskets were off loose balls or offensive rebounds. Green can jump out of the gym, the exact type of player this Duke team is lacking. We'll trade you Pocious for him ;)

Overall, a tough game as a Duke fan. You felt if JJ went cold you were in trouble, and then he appeared to go ice cold at the end of the first half. The first four min of the second half were literally shocking to me, and by the time I got excited we were up 17, only to lose the whole lead and some. Great comeback from Duke, it looked like they were toast. It was unfortunate for UNC fans that their team missed FTs and had TOs in the last 2:30, although Duke nearly threw away the game anyway. Could have gone either way, here's hoping for two more games this year.

The only difference between this UNC team and the team's in the early nineties is that UNC beat Duke on a consistent basis (beating the shit out of them by 25 before Duke's run to the title in '91). If Duke doesn't lose a game to UNC this year whether it be in Cameron or in the ACC tournament, Duke is doomed. Every title year they've had they have lost to UNC. But good win for Duke, especially with Shelden off a little bit. Dockery and McRoberts stepped it up big time.

That's great, but it may be time to be concerned with 2006.

Everytime Jefferson-Pilot showed that kid with the blue face-paint and the 'H' on his chest, I thought 'Homo'.
