I heard a gentleman on television last night discussing the #1 seeds and he said that if Duke just wins one game on Friday and makes it to the semis on Saturday in the ACC tourney, they would still be that last #1 seed. Does this make sense or does anybody feel there's another team out there that deserves to be put in that spot?

How far does everyone think the teams in the ACC will go?

I added the poll to get a better overall feeling on how everyone feels about the chances for the ACC teams.

I think Maryland will go the deepest, followed by Duke. I think both these teams will make the round of 16.
Clemson, Ga. Tech, Va. Tech, Clemson, & Wake will lose out the first weekend. (If they all actually make it in). A first round loss in the ACC Tourney could doom some of these teams.

Of course I'm biased, but I would be shocked if Maryland made it farther than Duke in the tournament. I know Duke has been an early exit the past 5 or 6 years, but this team can rebound much better this year. Also, contrary to what some people believe, I think they're playing great defense that will keep them in any game. I don't see a team that's going to beat them the way Villanova did last year by attacking off the dribble. I do expect Maryland to make the sweet 16 and possibly the elite 8.

Duke should get to the sweet 16 but they are vulnerable if they can't hit jumpers just like in the past. They are better on the boards this year but they don't score many points in the paint. If they get the right draw they could dance for a while. Maryland has a chance to win up to the elite 8 and I don't see them going any deeper. Clemson should be better than they are but don't look for them to win more than a game. Nobody from the ACC makes the final 4 unless Duke gets hot (really hot). Count on the champion being either Kansas or Syracuse. I'd be really shocked if they don't play for the title. Don't be shocked to see 3 big east teams make it to the Final 4.

It's really hard to say, I don't think Duke is as good as the hype. They just look better because of how weak the ACC is this year.

There shouldn't be 'hype.' Duke isn't that good and they are backing their way into a #1 seed.

Doesn't mean I don't think they can make a run, I always think they can make a run. The team is flawed though. They show more 'heart' than recent Duke teams but that may just be a product of the down ACC.

agree with dj. dook is good but flawed. They have the big three and they can ride them into the sweet sixteen even the elite eight. But their inside game will do them in. I know it's better this year and I know Zoubeck is rebounding well and plays big in the middle but the first real big, athletic front line they play will get them.
