I was wondering about Henson myself a few weeks ago. He'd be worth keeping an eye out for.

It'd also keep a draft pick free to fill another slot. I like it, but is our front office smart enough to take advantage of the situation?

  4. I have heard about him but unfortunately I don't know much about him. Could one of you individuals that know something about him elaborate please. What college he was at, etc. That would be a big blessing in disguise if he worked out. I mean is he comparable to palmer or ragone? Anyway also I was wondering if any of you guys knew anything about ponder a wr from South Eastern Missouri State. He has the same speed as rogers, is a little shorter than rogers but weighs the same. He is 6-1 205 versus rogers is 6-4 205 but has higher numbers. Rogers has 1126 yards and 11 td's but ponder has 1255 yards and 14 td's. Is he comparable to rogers and he's a sleeper that no seems to be mentioning (he's not on any mock draft boards that I have seen). If so is his competition anywhere comparable also? I don't know but if he is maybe he we can go with him in the second round and go for cb the first .

I doubt Henson will be playing FB anytime soon. He can make as much in the minors as he would as an NFL FA. He isn't a particularly great QB anyway. Good game manager, solid passer, but little in the way of WOW factor. Plus he's been away from football for a year.
QB is deep this year, you can get a started as deep as the fourth round potentially. Guys like Lorenzen will go later based on other positions being thin and in his case weight. He'll be a decent Pro QB if not great.
On the SEMSU WR, like his dimensions, but he doesn't play anybody. They are D1-AA if not D2. NE and NW are both D2 and I think SWMSU is 1-AA. Sounds like he'd be a guy that would come on in a couple of years, but would be another Hankton initially.

Henson - strong arm, good vision, developmentally he could be better thanks to his previous leave, certainly worth a risk.
Never really fancied him as a game manager. More the opposite, more a guy who lives play to play.

Henson went to Michigan, had a big Jr. year, and some thought he'd come out for the NFL draft then, but instead he left before his senoir year to play for the Yankees. They paid big money, but he has struggled so far.

More of a pure passer than Ragone, more polished, strong arm, not a real threat to run, but a good pocket presense and pocket mobility.
