If the trade up was a Jets-Rams first for first, third and fifth or something like that, I could deal with that.
If Witten were there I'd be ecstatic in the second. I don't think he will, though. Any QB and Witten makes a draft IMO, because not even this offense could screw up Witten. We'd have continued problems with starting receiver, though.

ditto...Looks like David Boston is gonna be available next year also. . Draft a QB and sign a WR. Draft a WR and sign a QB. Just try and land Witten. Potentially good TE's are so damn scarce.

We'll have the cap space to pursue offensive weapons.

I like Shaun King. I think i might look at him with Rose colored glasses, but I've always liked him.

When is the RB from Penn State projected in the draft? I think Foster is done...damaged goods.

If we landed Plummer I would shit my pants. He has incredible potential, but I think the rest of the league knows this.

Why didn't we go after Jeff Blake?

Foster - yeah. I want to draft another RB high.

Plummer - I'm for it, but not with a big signing bonus.

Blake - no cap space last year. Peete is only $450k against the cap. That's why he's here.

LJ: don’t seem him getting top 15. Big power back who has improved his speed. Suggs is his only Senior competition, so that would move him up, but should McGahee, Smith, or Brown declare, that’d toughen in up.

We didn’t go after Jeff Blake because he isn’t old enough to remember Henning’s offense.

Johnson would work well in this offense but I'd put a third in the position, no more. He'll probably go higher. At this point I'd probably take a chance on a guy like Askew and keep Hoover and figure out which is the better match at FB for the start, and which is the better backup RB (my guess is that, even though both are tweeners, Hoover has less skill as a fullback and isn't as natural as Askew would be in the pros), and assume that Askew could help out in either.

Not much difference there with Smith to either Hoover or Askew, all three need a nice hole and all three will reward you for giving him the hole. None will really break a nice one unless something goes wrong.

Outside of McGahee no back (expect maybe Greg Jones) will be worth a top 10 pick. I like Chris Brown but he lacks speed and backs that lack speed don't get into the top 10.

Witten is the top TE and no way he makes it to the second IMO.

I would like to see Manning, Jones, McGahee and any other underclassmen to come out. That would only strengthen our draft position.

IMO, McGahee should come out. He will be the first back taken - and probably won't even need to run for teams to be selected high. I can't see him having a better season than this one - especially with Dorsey and Johnson gone.

He reminds me a lot of Edgerrin James - so he will go very high.
Not sure he has James' top speed - but expect for pure blazing speed - McGahee lacks NOTHING.

Don't like Jacobs very much and Banks is rising. He won't make the third IMO. I wouldn't start sucking Plummers dick quite yet either. Zona ain't gonna just let him leave without at least trying to sign him. I don't see the allure anyway. Plummer is inconsistent at best. Brunell would make more sense. :D

Also, agree with mags. Johnson would work very well here. Pro style offense and we need a quick contibutor. Rogers and Williams would work as well - but will they go too soon?!

OK, I know we all like our Johnsons, but put the first name in context. ;)

Mags was talking about LJ (Penn State runningback) there I think, not AJ.
