Bengals (1-9)-games left, @ Pitt (against Kordell at QB), Balt, @ Car, Jax, NO, @ Buff. We're their best shot at a win. Final record projection 2-14.

Texans (2-8)- NYG, @ Ind, @Pitt, Balt, @ Wash, Tenn. Honestly, I don't see them winning again. Final record projection 2-14. Cincy beat them so they should have a lock on the number one pick.

Bears (2-7)-@ StL tomorrow, Det, @GB, @Mia, NYJ, @Car, TB. Detroit they have a shot at, the Jets are playing well so it's iffy at this point, then there's us. Final record projection 4-12.

Lions (3-7)-@ Chi, NE, @ Az, TB, @ Atl, Minn. Tough road to hoe. Maybe the Bears or Cards, not much chance at any of the others. Final record projection 4-12, they've lost to us and the Vikes.

Vikings (3-7)-@ NE, Atl, @ GB, @ NO, Mia, @ Det. That's a nasty ass schedule, after today you know the Green Bay game is going to be a war, but they'll take the Lions the second time around. Final record projection 4-12.

Cowboys (3-7) Jax, Wash, SF, @ NYG, Phil, @ Wash. Soft schedule now that McNabb is out. SF gives them a whipping, NYG have more talent, and they'll split with the Steveskins. Final record porojection 5-11.

Redskins (4-6)-StL, @ Dal, NYG, @ Phil, Hou, Dal. Mr Gator is wishing he'd have stayed down south about now. Final record projection 6-10

Panthers (3-7)-Atl, @ Cle, Cinc, @ Pit, Chi, @ NO. Two more wins tops, just enough to screw us out of a decent QB. Final record projection 5-11.

    Projected draft order
    1. Houston
    2. Cincinnati
    3. Detroit
    4. Chicago
    5. Minnesota
    6. Carolina
    7. Dallas

Cincy and Da' Bears take the top two QB's and we go WR.

I think we pick 4th. Minnesota will end up with a better record and so will another team. Puts in line for Rogers

I see us drafting before Chi but not before Cin. Leftwich may as well order his Bengals jersey NOW. We should still have a shot at any other QB. Do we just take Ragone or Manning and roll the dice on a WR in round 2 . . . or do we take the top WR and roll the dice on a QB in round 2.
Right now that looks like the big 2003 draft question for us.

I take Rogers over Ragone if he's there... and pick up Jake Plummer from Free Agency... that leaves the 2nd pick for an O-Lineman, a DT, or a CB

Say what you want about my choices, but

    QB - Peete
    RB - Smith
    FB - Hoover
    WR - Muhammed
    WR - Smith
    WR - Byrd
    TE - Walls

    doens't NEAR look THIS good...

    QB - Plummer
    RB - Foster(?)/Smith
    FB - Hoover
    WR - Muhammed
    WR - Rogers
    WR - Smith
    TE - Walls(?)

    1. Cincinnati - Byron Leftwitch QB
    2. Houston - Willliams - OT
    3. Detroit - Charles Rodgers WR
    4. Chicago - Eli Manning QB
    5. Minnesota - William Joseph DT
    6. Carolina ???????

Yep, that's the problem Piper. The top two QB's are gone, as are the top WR, and the top DT. Every other QB at that point would be a reach, we already have one WR with hammy problems so we shy away from Williams, and the drop off between Joseph and the next DT makes the position a reach at that point also. We're fucked more than a two dollar whore at that point. Trade down is beginning to look good.

Looks like the Carolina vs Cincy and Carolina vs Chicago games will be a HUGE key to our future then... but my question is this... if YOU were the coach of the Carolina Panthers... and lets sat we're 4-10 when the Bears come into town... do you throw the game for Draft position???

No way no how. IMO you should never sacrifice confidence for draft position.

They have no confidence or competence for that matter either or they'd find a way to hold a lead.

If they win those games it builds confidence...yeah it's a little late to build some but you need all you can get going into the off-season.
