Sounds like they wanted Hornacek but he chose Phoenix instead.

I just do not want Lin. A few nice games don't make a career and not something I want to trust

yeah, they really need to hurry up before other teams grab all the good coaches. there are undoubtedly teams waiting to talk to assistants on the current playoff teams. they should take advantage of those teams waiting and move quickly. there are 8 vacancies including the hornets, but NOT including the hawks who are actively looking but haven't fired drew.

"Over the past four NBA Drafts, the Bobcats used their first round lottery selections on guards Gerald Henderson (12th overall, 2009) and Kemba Walker (ninth overall, 2011) and forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (second overall, 2012), while also trading for the draft rights to forward Bismack Biyombo (seventh overall, 2011). The Bobcats did not own a pick in 2010.
    ........"

So the best draft they had was 2010...

they do have a pretty abysmal history in the draft. aside from mkg, those are all mid lotto which is a total crap shoot. sometimes you get a superstar, sometimes you get a total bust. it would be nice, tho, if at least one of those guys would end up being some kind of all-star level player.

for my money, i think walker can still elevate his game to the next level. henderson is a solid player, but isn't really all star caliber. biyombo is tall and athletic but lacks coordination. people who think he could be another ibaka are on drugs. we'll see what happens with mkg.

it's pretty easy to get a high pick in the league, it's tough to make those picks into something good. the thunder had top picks in 07,08, and 09. in each year, a bust was selected before they got their pick. in 07 it was oden over durant. in 08 it was beasely over westbrook. in 09 it was thabeet over harden. and of course, grabbing ibaka at 24 in 2008 was a really great pick.

so clearly just getting a high pick doesn't mean crap if you fuck it up. the thunder have been lucky other teams have messed up their pick and also really good about getting the right players. also, the draft class itself has a lot to do with it... the bobcats have been mostly cursed when it comes to draft picks, either missing out on superstars by 1 pick or simply fucking it up by taking garbage players hoping they'll turn into something they're not.
