Way to go Dook. Memphis will make plenty of noise this year. Great game. Paulus came of age.

Hey Python, I thought you were a Duke fan. Paulus played real well controlling the point and Shelden was a beast down low. McRoberts is progressively getting better and better, but it's making me real mad that Coach K isn't playing Boateng or Pocius more, and Melchionni is playing like absolute crap. Dockery's three was huge, and it makes me feel better that even though Redick didn't score in the second half, we still outscored Memphis by 2, and that's a team that I bet is in the top 10 by the end of the year (because they are real good, and their conference). Paulus almost had a double double and he shoots free throws real well. Duke's really missing Nelson, but that was a big win, more for the freshmen to get that confidence under their belt. Still don't know how all those recruits got out of North Carolina. Good win for Duke. Dockery and Melchionni are gonna have to step up. Dockery did okay, and I really like him out there with Paulus at the same time. Helps breaks the press easily, but right now I'll take Pocius over Melchionni anyday

Yup, definitely a Duke fan. I knew that Memphis would be a handful. Melchionni should be benched,Dockery's pt will go down when Nelson gets back.Williams came up huge, as did McRoberts.. Duke has to pick up the free-throws,the missed ones made the game too close at the end. I agree that the other frosh should have more playing time, but K knows what he's doing.Nobody will go undefeated, and the Duke fans have to realize this. This is the deepest team that I can remember the Dookies having. It should be an interesting year.

Why are you calling them Dook then? I read somewhere that Nelson was out indefinitely but I don't see how that can be true, with as much that is left in the season. If a hairline fracture is the same thing as a broken ankle then I could see it. I'm not sure what happened to Melchionni's stroke, but he better find it quick, or Pocius will be getting most of his minutes. At least he can knock down the three.

Well, I thought preseason that this was the deepest dook team, but either K just doesn't play his freshmen or either outside of McRoberts and Paulus the others just aren't that good. He seems to keep his 6 or 7 man rotation and that is it.

Pocius played some tonight. He HAS to play more minutes. I don't mind leaving Shelden in when he was dominating like tonight, but I'm sure Boateng will get some PT during the ACC season, cause if Williams is in foul trouble, you either rotate McRoberts over to center, or bring in Boateng, who every chance he's gotten has done well, and he plays good defense. Glad Paulus came through tonight in rebounds and assist. He's real scrappy

Nelson is out 4 to 6 weeks was the initial speculation. If any guy had to go out for injury though Nelson was the perfect candidate. He should be able to easily get back into the lineup, and with our PG situation he shouldn't kill us being out. With Pocius basically filling his role we should be ok. That said, this is NOT 1999 Duke Blue Devils. We're going to have to scrap for every win against good teams, we've got a lot of growing to do. But that will make this season fun. 7 out of the last 9 years an ACC team has won the Preseason NIT. We're still young, it will take us to January to 'look like Duke' I think.

Duke seem to always start the offense to the left. Paulus dribbles and drives to his left a lot better than his right. He is always going to his left when trying to drive.

It seems weird that Paulus likes to go left. Isn't he right handed? You'd think it's the other way around. McRoberts is getting better and better. He needs to get quicker feet on defense but he had a tough matchup against Williams last night. Shelden was a monster last night, and Paulus is lookin good. I think that Memphis team will be ranked higher than 11 by the end of the year

I don't have a problem with "Dook". It's all a part of not letting little things matter.
