Duke's meltdown may have started early this year. Tough upcoming schedule for them this week, too.

    old

edit: Also note that the ACC is a lot tougher/deeper than it has been in awhile, certainly a LOT deeper than the early 2000's when Duke was dominant. I've no idea why neither of the freshmen 'studs' can even get on the court, much less contribute. It's frustrating.

I'm not trying to start anything but does it bother you that Duke hasn't had a bruising big man since Elton Brand. Duke's game is so reliant (to me ) on jump shooting without a guy who you can feed in the low post. Sheldon Williams was someone like that but Coach K doesn't seem to go after those players as much.

Yeah, that bothers me. Duke's recruiting the last 7 years really has been strange, I don't know if it's missed opportunities or what but it's really hurting the program and is indefensible as a fan.

Maybe Duke needs some assistant coaches instead of former players out there recruiting. We almost had Greg Monroe, likely if we got him we're not having this conversation. There are plenty of horses that could have helped us up front though, not sure why we can't get one.

I understand the need for as many thoroughbreds as you can get, but you also have to have that big son of a bitch down there to bang, rebound and get tough baskets. Hansbrough for all of his offensive faults which will be exposed in the pros , is such a guy, I like the wing players Duke has (the guards I'd just as soon slap off a cliff ;) ) but you got to have a big ugly as well
