Nothing new. You can almost expect a class action on these product launches anymore.

The original xbox had a crappy DVD drive that would cause games to freeze/lockup. I have one of them. It seems like M$ quietly did something to their game discs to decerease the failure rate, but for about a year there, every game I bought would frequently lockup. They were sued numerous times over it.

MS already admitted the problem and offered replacements that take like a week to get back. This assclown is just clogging the courts and wasting his own time and money.

MS is also known for slamming counter suits on bitches like this...

XBOX 1.0 shipped witha DVD manufactured by Thompson Electronics and was later found out to be defective. MS has released 8 revisions of the XBOx since launch and those either included Samsung or Phillips drives. I had a launch one with the same problem as you describe. It was never really bad for the first year, but I eventually spent $25 on EBay for a Samsung unit and it has been flawless since.

The guys complaint is clearly covered in 16 point black font on a bright green card. Plus he is in the 90 day warranty period. If he has true problems, MS will replace the unit. The judge should be giving him 20 hours of community service for wasting our time with his notions of profiteering via the legal system...

Weren't you one of the guys that wanted Sony to be sued out of business a while back? I guess your view of the court system depends on who is doing the suing.

Lets see, a manufacturing defect on piece of consumer hardware versus a malious piece of software aimed well beyond the scope of the DRM license attached that beyond being poorly written was also a complete invasion of privacy and potentially a destabilizing security risk for other systems at your home or business. Wow, this is like apples and single cell organisms...

No need to bring Intelligent Design into this. We all know Microsoft isn't capable of that.
