Dude got fucked, no two ways about it. The local news (Greensboro, Channel 2) showed one of the players, I think Melvin Scott, BEFORE the press confrence saying some shit about how he feels bad about the coaching staff but "I got myself to think about." That says a lot.

Roy and Larry would have more ammo than what we did last year...their name next to UNC goes a LOOOOONG way.... I think Doh was screwed, but Roy Williams at UNC would be HUGE recruiting wise... I kinda got an erie feeling that it won't happen though

Adam Boone actually sent a letter to Dick Baddour summarizing his side of things.

WHO GIVES A FUCK WHAT ADAM BOONE THINKS!!!!!

Jackie Manuel's mom, Jawad Williams' dad, Scott May, can any of these players be man enough to speak their minds?

We will see next year who was right.

The fact is, with Sean May the whole year they would have been an NCAA tournament team! And they have such a promising future. He has been an outstanding recruiter. I thought he deserved another year, in fairness to him, May was out most of the year. Unfortunately, he was not very well-liked by his players and the alumni. The players lobbied to get him fired. And we all know that NIT's don't cut it at UNC, let alone 8-20 seasons.

I think Dohetry would have been better off to stay at Notre Dame (he only stayed there one year) and I think he used May's injury as an excuse, but the fact is, they still played hard at the end of the season. They beat Duke in the regular-season finalie and upset 2nd-seeded Maryland in the first round of the ACC tournament ! And after losing to Duke in the semfinals, they go on to beat DePaul and Wyoming in the NIT and lose by only 5 to Georgetown. Players shouldn't decide a coach's fate. Dick Baddour, should be fired. DOHETRY MADE PROGRESS! Geez!

And perfect timing, Baddour. All you're gonna be hearing at the Final Four now: "Roy Williams, are you going to Carolina?" "Tom Crean, are you going to Carolina?" Couldn't he have at least waited until after the Final Four so Roy and Tom could concentrate on the task at hand--trying to win their first national title!

Larry Brown, Mark Few, George Karl, and Tubby Smith have also been mentioned as possible candidates. I think Carolina should go outside the family and let Smith have no say.

I disagree. This is not on the players heads - or even their parents.

    This is baddour's fault. Period.

Nothing wrong with players not liking the coach - nothing wrong with them or the parents wanting to talk to Doh or Baddour.

But when they finished Baddour should have said :

"you are supposed to be the best basketball players in the land, playing at the toughest collegiate level, at one of the most prestigious basketball schools, in the toughest conference against the toughest opponents. Quit your whining. If you want to be the best and become tough players that persevere and make it to the next level then stay here - if Doherty is too mean then you need to take your crybaby ass and play at a Division III school."

Baddour is a disgrace not only to UNC but to all of collegiate athletics. I hope somebody keyed the fuck out of his car tonight.

I'll agree with you that Brodour is first and foremost an embarrassment to the athletic department, HOWEVER, I still put alot on the players heads. But then I am old school.

Here is the reason Doherty is out...

"We want coaches who are tough and who have high demands, but whose toughness is coupled with love," chancellor James Moeser said. "That's what we're looking for from our athletic leaders."

Forget all the other shit - the guy couldn't handle the leadership part of the job.

I'm glad Doherty is gone. I just hope we get a stand up guy with good leadership abillities. Be it Roy or Larry or whoever. We will be competitive on the court. Thats much is for sure.
