A firm YES. I didn't read the article. I simply answered your question. I hate tv. Except for Queer Eye and Seinfeld reruns.

I agree pretty much. The article says the "golden age" of TV was the last 15 years for comedy and drama and that everything has pretty much been done. I won't say "hate". Just that it's looking grim right now.

I didn't even laugh at the Simpsons Sunday.

I remember I used to guffaw on Sunday nights at the Simpsons....but then they started doing those "feel good" episodes like the one with Lisa the vegitarian where Linda and Paul McCartney were guests. Man that episode sucked major ass.

tv is for sports, occaisonal movies (cable), music videos and naked women. broadcast tv sucks like nothing has ever sucked before.

i will say, tho, that HBO has some really good programming. carnivale, the sopranos, band of brothers... network tv just can't touch it.

shit. now i've got mc hammer stuck in my head... :(

Yeppppppppppppppp, TV today ain't as good. If you've noticed, the networks don't even try to do anything with Saturday morning anymore :( :( . . It rocked back in the day when I was a kid.

I think the problem today is you have too many 30 year old MBA's who know nothing about putting on a good show; they only care about the bottom line figures (ratings, winning market share of key demographics, etc.). A few years ago, I remember reading about a lady who was in her early 30's in charge of programming at ABC who eventually lost her job. Yikes, what does a 30+ year old know about selecting a good show  ? ? Often today, shows aren't given time to find an audience. CHEERS, ST. ELSEWHERE, & HILL STREET BLUES would've never gotten out of November sweeps if they came out today (back then, NBC Programming Chief Brandon Tartekoff gave the shows more time than usual to get discovered by the audience, and they eventually they became hits)
