DJ White, Dante Cunningham and a couple of first round picks looks pretty good to me for Wallace. If we get a decent player or two with those picks it will be a great move.

They need a big man who can score. Maybe they can find one in free agency this summer.

That would look good if that were the deal.

Unfortunately DJ White was part of the OKC deal for Nazr. We might have missed Nazr more than Wallace in the end, as we literally had no one behind Kwame the last 8 games or so.

Yea you are right I got that mixed up. Losing Nazr may have hurt in the short term but I think his salary coming off will help us. DJ White shows some promise.

We certainly need a center for next year whether we retain Brown or not. He had a good year, much better than anyone expected but he is not enough. Ideally he should come off the bench. There does not appear to be much chance to draft a center this year as they are few in the draft who look good.

Yeah getting DJ for Nazr was a win for us even if it cost us in the short term. Of course they had that position 'covered' with Przybilla but anyone counting on him to play for the first time in 2 years was pretty optimistic.

Dante Cunningham could develop into a good player for us. I think he was a nice find as well.

i'm pleasently surprised by him. he'll never be an all star, but he seems like a solid player.

White's salary is not very high if I remember correctly.

Yeah he should still be on his rookie salary. I remembered him from college at Indiana so I did a bit of research on him. He basically lost two seasons to separate freak injuries (one shoulder and a broken leg I think) and had only played a handful of games before this year. He's still really raw and was a really good scorer in college.

just over $2 mil next year.

and actually, the nazr trade actually COST the cats because it also brought over mo pete and his $6.6 mil contract for this year.

the end result is a downgrade at center for a few million fewer dollars next year, tho maybe dj can find a good role with this team. of course, if he does, then he'll be worth more and then be too expensive to keep.

It was the last year of Mo Pete's deal wasn't it? So next season we gain cap space as we basically take on White's $2 million and lose what ever Nazr was making.
