Great win tonight, very exciting finish.

Awesome night to move down to the lower level :)

Sorry, I still don't care. When they get to .500 I'll start paying attention. To be in a playoff hunt 10 games under 500 is a disgrace !

Actually, to be in a playoff hunt after dumping their best player in a salary dump is the disgraceful part to me. But it's still more exciting than not being in the playoff race. The place exploded last night when Milwaukee missed the final tip, and pretty much everyone was standing the final two minutes. Pretty exciting basketball, although far from good basketball.

I've become mildly interested since Paul Silas took over. I watched him play in Boston. He was a fine supportive, team player, and he seems to have a very good attitude for coaching. If I remember correctly Boston had exceptionally fine teams while he was playing; Havlicek, Cowens, et al.

I usually pull for Boston unless Charlotte's in the hunt.

They were 9-19 when Silas took over, and 22-23 since then. One game under .500 through 45 games would put them tied with the Knicks for the 7th seed. If not for the slow start under Larry Brown they would be in great shape for a playoff spot.

what's their record post trade? i suspect well below 500. imagine what spot they'd be in if they'd had silas and kept the team intact. also, silas teams tend to make late pushes...

They're 7-10 since the trade, and that's without Tyrus Thomas and a healthy Steven Jackson for most of that.

I like Gerald Wallace, but let's face it, they're no worse off without him than they were with him. They were 25-32 with him, and were going to struggle to make the playoffs either way. If they can turn either of the draft picks or the salary relief into an even halfway decent big man, in the end they'll be better for having done it.

I agree with this. It is hard to watch a guy like Wallace get moved but long term it is for the best.

If Thomas had been healthy all year they would probably be a few games better in the standings too. He has been out or limited a lot this year and I know they were counting on him to contribute more than he has.

The thing that has killed the Bobcats this year is underperforming against bad teams. If you look at our record against below .500 teams it's about 10 games worse than what Indiana and Milwaukee have. If we had their record against below .500 teams, and our record against above .500 teams we'd be at .500 and fighting with the Knicks for positioning.

I agree with Bucko, I love Gerald Wallace. I miss him. But offensively he wasn't as explosive as last year and likely had peaked as a player. Jackson and Henderson are probably more effective on the offensive end, and Thomas duplicates a lot of what Wallace brought defensively. We got more for Wallace than we'd probably get for (an older) Jackson. Sucks but I understand why they did it.

Still got a shot at the playoffs but Jack went down again last night so if he's out for awhile/done we might be too. But the team fought hard down the stretch, it's a good sign for the guys we've got here. Now if only Boris could continue playing like he did last night and maybe we could get something decent for him too.
