The NL East is down this year.Plain and simple. No team in the NL East has a winning record against the NL Central. Not one.

Only one team from the NL East had a winning record in interleague play...the NY Mets had a 10-8 record againt the AL.The NL East had the worst overall record in interleague play of all the divisions in baseball.

Yes,3 out of 5 teams from the NL East have a winning record against the NL West. That's about all there is to crow about in the NL East.....and that's not a lot.

Sorry but it has not been a very good year in the NL East period.

It's kind of funny that the Marlins in their short existence have never won a division title, but they have two world championships. The Braves with all those division titles have only one world championship since they moved to Atlanta in 1966.

I know one team that loves the wild card!

Joe Torre and the Yankees love facing Bobby Cox and the Braves with the money on the line also.Eight consecutive world series wins against the Braves if my memory is correct.

Hopefully the Braves can make it out of the NL soon and make another world series appearance. The Yanks need another title. It's been a few years since the last one. :laugh1:

hell, if steinbrenner wanted that bad enough, he could pay the salaries of a few guys and send them to atlanta.

seriously tho, i've always wanted to know, how does it feel to have almost double the payroll of everyone, and be expected to win it all year after year, yet these pesky wild card teams keep undoing ya? i mean, 3 years in a row of that would piss me off.

yankee fans really kill me sometimes. they have the best team that MONEY can buy, a team that bozo could manage to 90+ wins and even a world series or two every now and then so that makes them baseball experts. they feel the need to bust on other, lesser teams from their throne atop baseball glory......when the fact is if the playing field was the same for ALL teams, like ALL other sports, 50% of them would run for the hills like the "good time charlies" they are. good grief.

A lot of teams over the past 15 years have spent big money on players including the Braves(Ted Turner era),but don't have many world championships to show for it.The Mets,Dodgers,Orioles, and other teams have spent big $ in years past with nothing to show for it.

Yes the Yankees are the top spender now but that does not guarantee a championship.Just ask the teams I mentioned above and add up the world championships they have in the last 15 years, and these teams spent big bucks in years past.

The Yankees made some very bad moves in the off season in my opinion.Letting Clemens,Wells, and Pettite(even though he is now hurt) get away was not wise.Picking up NL pitchers Brown and Vasquez to replace them may have been an even bigger mistake.Vasquez seems to not be able to stand the pressures of New York.

To win in the playoffs you have to have excellent starting pitching. They had clutch pitchers in Clemens,Wells, and Pettite.I'm don't think they have that anymore. For that reason I honestly believe Boston will be tough to beat in the playoffs(Schilling,Pedro).I've been telling that to friends since May 1.

I hope I am wrong but I see St.Louis vs. Boston in the world series.
