Seeing Doc perform is an experience. I'm sure it wil be twice as cool in a cozy environment like that.

I saw him at a cancer benifit concert in Connely Springs this past winter and he was as good as ever. His grand son usually accompanys him on stage. He did the usual stuff, Tennessee Stud, Life Gets Tedious and even did an old Moody Blues song Nights in White Satin.

The bride's mom just called him and said that they both have been going to see him at Merlefest and other places for years and really enjoyed his music. His response was that he was free that weekend and that they seemed like good people so he would love to do it.

I used to see him around Boone all the time, he came into the restaurant I worked at all the time. A friend of mine was doing some carpentry work at his house and said he was climbing all around his roof up and down ladders fixing shingles and windows and other stuff like he could see everything.

When Merle had his tractor accident they laid him out in the living room and seems they left him too long cause things began to smell a little bit. They buried him outside the kitchen window where Mrs. Doc can look at his grave evryday. Mountain folks are a funny lot but they a true one.;)
My wife use to give Doc money when he played on the street in Boone and if I ever see any of you in person remind me to tell you the story of when Doc was robbed in his motel room and Doc pulled "his" gun :D
