The City of CLT wants part of the redeveloped Charlotte Coliseum site to contain residental areas, while Crescent Resources (the development arm of Duke Power) wants to keep that area purely commercial. Would Duke Power withhold its contribution to the arena financing pie ($24 million for the entire Coliseum property) if they and the City can't agree on a redevelopment plan  ? ? ?

Cresent Resources/City of CLT Dispute Over Coliseum Redevlopment Plans

PS: I put in residental twice . . . . CLT politicos want to see the Coliseum area remade as a mixed use development while Crescent Resources want to keep the area a purely commercial area . . . My bad for the earlier typo :) . .

the city just needs to shut the fuck up on this one and let crescent do whatever the hell they want to do. there is no resedential development around the coliseum right now- its an office park. making it a mixed use park wont do jack in the big scheme of things.

Bump . . . Yesterday, workers at the arena site found an old monument designating the site where the last Attorney General of the Confederacy once lived . . . Hopefully they will find a way to incorporate this memorial into the arena site . . . . (I wish the Observer would post their photos from the fishwrap onto their newssite also so y'all could see what it looked like   . . It was put up in 1945 by the Daughters of the Confederacy).

Confederate Site Marker Found at Arena Site . . . Will it be Saved?
