Just so we are VERY clear about all of this - I do not treat an overwait person any differently than I would a skinny one. I was addressing the question that ecliam asked response to farmers original post.

Don't get me wrong VP - I'm all for personal responsibility as well and get frustrated when I see vastly overweight people saying "I've tried everything - it's my glands". That's bollocks and I think in the majority of cases, there is an issue with using food as a coping mechanism - and in that light, it would be a dependency. I'm not saying that's the case in ALL cases, but in the majority - I'd say it could be. I work with a lot of offenders with alcoholism and drug addiction - and I see the same denial as well. That's part of the cycle. Sometimes actually sitting there and saying `I've got a problem with this - it's not about liking potato chips - it's about using the chips to control things in my life' is the hardest thing to do. It's an admission - and it's scary to face up to the fact that food is sometimes the only thing you can control in your life, and that you've got to face the demons and deal with the crap that is behind the addiction.

Confident, vivacious women who carry themselves with style and self-assurance aren't skanks. I guess fat skanks are your bag, then?

 I'm not saying it can't be pulled off, but spandex ain't really high on my list. I think that falls under "style." You never know... :lol2:

I do have a couple of points I would like to bring up about this thread. This is a classic example of why some of the TBR women fear if they post their picture or come out to the gatherings, they would be the subject of some of the harshness displayed here.
It's much more acceptable for a man to be over weight in today's society than a woman -and ya'll can yuck yuck and drink beer and cram chips in your mouth while the women are expected to chew on carrots and drink water. In the words of HG, Sod that for a game of soldiers!
Now at this point, everyone's thinking, pluto's fat. Yeah, I'm a classic thick chick, and I'm getting thicker. In the recent couple of years I've been down the thin road, I didnt' feel as well and I liked myself even less. The fact that men who wouldn't have glanced my way before, now asking me out, made me realize what a sick society we live in. I didn't gain weight back for that reason, I did it because I was unhealthy at the weight I was, and unhappy. Regardless of any weight I have ever been , I 've never sat alone on a Saturday night unless I wanted to and have never gone out with an ugly or stupid guy just because I was lonely. As far as what you 'find attractive', that's another story. If you find you just can't love a thick, chunky, or even fat girl, that's ok, I feel the same about blue eyed men for no reason other than that....however, I wouldn't rule you out as a friend or try to make you feel like I'm gonna ostricize you for having blue eyes if I happen to be in a social place with you. Imagine what interesting person I might miss the chance of meeting if I were that shallow minded?
