I'm not exactly thrilled about the birds getting him - didn't Jackson destroy our secondary last year?

This year, we'll have the triple nickel threat.

Even though we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty we might want to stay clear of graham. He has talent, but he seems to be one bad day from a federal prison also. Maybe he and Ray could shack up.

I wonder if they're still going after Darnay Scott? Last I looked the shitbirds were talking to them both...
Could spell bad news for our "less than stellar" secondary.

Falcons Waive WR Graham For Jackson

    The Associated Press
    Friday, July 12, 2002

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) -- The Atlanta Falcons on Friday waived wide receiver Jeff Graham, who failed to show up for mandatory minicamp earlier this week, and signed eight-year veteran Willie Jackson to take his place.

The Falcons signed Graham to a one-year contract in April -- but a month later his name was listed on a federal search warrant connected to massive cocaine bust in Dayton, Ohio. He has not been charged with a crime.

Falcons coach Dan Reeves was upset Thursday when Graham did not attend minicamp. His agent, Mitch Frankel, said he was absent because of a death in the family.

Graham's sister was arrested last year after federal agents seized more than 100 pounds of cocaine, and his father was killed in an automobile accident later in the year.

Graham was waived by the San Diego Chargers earlier this year.

Jackson spent the past two seasons with the division rival New Orleans Saints.

Jackson had his best season last year with career-highs of 81 receptions and 1,046 yards. He made 28 catches on third down for the Saints, second-best in the NFC.

His best performance was in a Nov. 11 loss at San Francisco when Jackson caught 11 passes for 167 yards. He has been in the playoffs four times.

Jackson, brother of 49ers fullback Terry Jackson, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys out of Florida in 1994. He was part of the inaugural Jacksonville Jaguars roster in 1995 and also had a two-year stint with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Terms of his contract were not disclosed.

The Falcons, 7-9 last season, will soon open their first training camp under new owner Arthur Blank.

Jackson dropped a shitload of passes last year. I doubt that will change.
