Baptists are big on the quarter system. Communion, church conference meetings (which reminds me I have one to go to tonight).

This response sparked something in me that I've wondered about for years (and no, I'm not coming out). I've heard before and couldn't explain that gay's are born that way. Gays will say, and I think they are correct, that they can't help the way they are born. But I don't believe that God created us that way, even though we may have been born that way. I believe that we are born in a lost, fallen world with a sin nature that manifest itself in different ways in different people. Some people's sin nature happens to be homosexuality. I think it can be compared to someone born blind. I don't believe God creates us to be blind. I think it is the result of sin in the world.
We don't go around condemning blind people. This reminds me of the story in Jn. 9 where Jesus passed by a blind man and is asked if the blind man sinned or his parents. He said that neither had, "but that the works of God should be manifest in him." and then he healed him. So I guess that I'm saying that I believe it when they say they are born that way, but I'm also saying that there is healing available and don't have to stay that way. However, if I was gay I don't think I'd want anything to do with the group of people who had treated me so badly. I also think that if it wasn't for the christians, christianity would spread like wild fire.
