Didn't like Star Wars? - Probably didn't follow what was going on.

I thought that Ep. II was great. Particulary cool becasue now we start to see some of the tie-ins with Ep. IV.
The initial plans for the death star...very cool.
One thing that I wondered about was how could Luke have an aunt and uncle when Anakin is an only child and it's not like it could have been from his father's side of the family, since he doesn't really have one. I wondered about this, so it was cool to get the intro to Anakin's step-brother Owen (Luke's uncle).
Intro to little boba-fett is cool too and we can see why he would be inclined to work with the Empire later...revenge against the Jedi. Lots of great foreshadowing in this movie.

Yoda absolutely kicks ass in this one too. His light-saber scene is awesome and there was audible anticipation in the theatre when you see his shadow coming in to the scene.....that was great. This is the first movie in the series where Yoda is completely CGI...no more puppet at all and they did a great job with him.

    Two enthusiastic thumbs up!:D

The Lars guy bought Shmi Skywalker from whatshisname and then ended up marrying her. Anakin gained a half-brother, and Luke gained an aunt and uncle.

I think I need to see it again. I was not impressed. With all the good reviews I have been reading I had high expectations, yet they fell short. Way short. I thought the acting (Samual L Jackson and Portman) was really flat. And damn, I think if my mother died I would be crying like a baby yet Anakin could hardly muster up a tear. I don't know, I was disappointed. Course I liked Ep. I myself yet everybody hated it.

I think the lack of emotion by the actors is what bothered me. The special effects were awesome and there were two big events at the end that I did not expect to happen.

Did anyone notice at the beginning when they were all talking, (I think Jar Jar was there) in the background for a quick second you can see one of the royal guards (the one's decked out in red). I also heard there were some mel. falcons but I couldn't see any.

like I said.... that's why I was glad to get that info in this movie because before that I wondered how it came to be that Luke had an uncle.

    it's all good

no prob mathmajor, some good analysis of the movie in this thread. I think I need to see it again. There is an aweful lot going on and the story line with the clones, who ordered them, for what reason, can be a little hard to follow. I think I get the picture but can't wait to see it again. There is so much eye-candy in this movie that it's easy to lose track of the dialogue sometimes because there is so much to look at in every scene. I agree with some who said that the acting is cheesy in some cases, but that is the Star Wars way, take a look at Ep IV again...Mark Hammill (sp?) is aweful, but somehow it works.

I need to see it again, too.

I've been spending the last couple of days trying to reconcile the incomplete timeline in my head. It's maddening.

that's the sign of a great flick, when you are thinking about it days later and analyzing the plot lines. :D

I saw it again and think I have most of it figured out.

There was only one question that the movie doesn't answer. It was about who ordered to have the clone army built. They say the guy who ordered it (don't remember his name) used to be the head of the Jedi Councel. They also say he died 10 years ago. The clone army was ordered 10 years ago.

Other than that, they don't talk about it. So what happened to him? Did someone pretend to be him? Did someone find a way to control him?

I tried to find some scoop on this Jedi named Cepheus, Sepheaus. Couldn't even get a name. I don't know that he was head of the Council, but he did commission the army to be built. One theory is that he was doing it for Sideous, and then Sideous killed him off.
