Didn't like Star Wars? - Probably didn't follow what was going on.

Don't read this if you haven't seen the movie.

This is the second best episode, behind Empire. The acting and script is a little cheesy (hell, it's made for kids) But the story-line rocked.

Here are the parts I liked and why the storyline was so good. I can't spell these names.

Did you pick-up on these things?

Jenga Phet/ Boba Phet. Boba is Jenga's clone, that little kid. Jenga was a bad-ass.

Senator Palpatine (remember, he's the emperor in episode 4-6) gains more power.

Palpatine converted Dookoo (that old dark jedi guy) ten years ago. That was right after Darth Maul was killed. (there are always two, a master and an apprentice) The Jedi councel thought Dookoo had died. In the next movie, Anakin will kill Dookoo and take his place next to the emperor. (I bet Palpatine repeats the same line that he said to Luke about "Stike him down and take your rightful place by my side" in Return of the Jedi)

Palpatine now has control over both armies, has them fighting against each other, and will gain control of everything in the next movie. - Senate has clone army built, Dookoo has the droid army built. Palpatine controls the senate and Dookoo.

    - these were some of the things that I saw and others missed. There's a bunch more.

The movie didn't spell these things out for you, which is why I liked it. There was so much going on, it was hard to catch everything. The people who say the storyline sucked probably didn't follow half of the story or catch all of the links to the other movies.

I can only understand not liking it if you don't remember much about the other four movies.

  2. Or you don't like the whole star wars mythology...

I haven't seen it yet. I've heard everything from "the best movie i've ever seen" to "it's better than the phantom menace" to "it sucks". From what I've seen, I'd probably lean towards the "it sucks" group as far as expectations go. But enough people seem to actually like it, so maybe I'll see it soon...

Go in expecting Phantom Menace, and you'll be pleasantly surprized. Plus, Natie Portman looks better everyday.

Portman is sporting her nips all movie long. Maybe I don't ask for much.

Natalie Portman does look great in the movie. Ezy, I agree it was pretty damn good, I asked my son if he wanted to see it again (like get back in line as we were leaving).

I like the Emperor Palpatine/Dooko thing. I'd like to see it again to catch the end completely (my son had to pee). But yeah, he's got the war started, clones vs. droids, next movie he'll have wiped out all opposition and the Empire will be in place (or close to it). One thing that struck me as funny, all the shit that people gave about the Jar Jar Binks character...who petitioned the Senate to give Palpatine emergency/absolute authority? Damn if it wasn't Jar Jar!!!!Knew he should have died!!!

    threethings...

    * i'll bet all stormtroopers are clones. that's why when leia sees luke rescue her in 'star wars', she says, "aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" -- they are all the same height.

    * remember in 'star wars' when obi first sees r2? he says, "good to see you again old friend."

    * i'll also bet that the droids memories were erased as it pertains to where the kids (luke and leia) were scattered.

to continue, with things from the movie, this was probably too obvious, but you do remember the scene where Obi-Wan and Anakin are going into the club after the assassin, and Obi-Wan says (in a fatherly tone) "you'll be the death of me one of these days Anakin."

Yes, I read that the clones were the beginnings of the Stormtroopers.

Luke obviously ends up on Tatooine again with Anakins half-brother and wife. Wonder where Leia ends up?

Did you see Jimmy Smits in the movie??? He played Bail Organa... that's the guy that raises Princess Leia

Also if you notice a HUGE group of Jedi were killed... to me this makes the Jedi purge believable... that's where Darth Vader(Anakin) hunt down and kill off all the Jedi, with the exception of Obi Wan and Yoda... with only so few left it is possible now.

And Bobba Fett takes his father's armor and uses it himself in Empire and Return of The Jedi... its just painted a little different.
