Did the Bobcats draft UNC players to draw a crowd?

I agree with Gutter. We may have left players that fill a better need on the board, but we didn't leave the better player on the board.

I'm beginning to think with the lineup they're going with that they may be looking to build a team similar to Phoenix. With May and Okafor both on the court. They have Wallace as a bigger SF that can rebound and run, and now Felton as a PG that will push the pace. All they need is a steady SG and they have a team that's damned near similar in style.

I would have take Granger at 13 all day long. He fills a need and also played 4 years in college. He and Hudson were in most experts the most well rounded players coming int the league. Charlotte needs a slasher 2/3 player. Other than Wilkens we got squat

Disagree. Felt like Granger and Green were better players. Matter of fact, we left a ton of good 3s on the board.

From CBS Sportsline. I forgot all about Hakim Warrick and Antoine Wright. Both along with Granger would have filled immediate needs for the Bobcats

The rich get richer. Indiana welcomes back Ron Artest and now adds another potential defensive specialist in Danny Granger to aid next year's playoff push. He's not quite the athlete Shawn Marion is, but can stuff a stat sheet similarly, especially since he's a better passer. Team president Larry Bird managed to find a top 10 pick at No. 17, enhancing his team's chances to dethrone the Pistons as kings of the Eastern Conference.

Holding nothing against him -- he might be great one day -- but there's no doubt that Granger, Green and Antoine Wright will each have more of an immediate impact. That's why draft promises are dangerous, particularly since all three of the gentlemen mentioned above would have been better insurance in case Bobby Simmons leaves for big money in free agency.

    Memphis
Memphis ended Hakim Warrick's nightmare of being the last guy left in the Green Room, taking him with pick No. 19. Jerry West knows a steal when he sees it, and he'll be compensated immediately considering Stromile Swift is likely gone and Lorenzen Wright wants out. It doesn't matter if the 6-9 pogo stick lacks a true position -- he'll be a difference-maker. Grade: A.

The Bobcats dafted a real good player in May but didn't draft for need. Maybe they have a little more cap room to sign a free agent slasher?

Traded down to where and took who? We can't get past 7 because Felton would have went to Toronto....

Granger maybe equal, but in NO way was Green equal. What do you know about Green? Have you even seen him play once?

I've not, and I'm pretty sure you haven't. On him, obviously, I'm going on what scouts have written.
May being a Tar Heel doesn't make him better just because we've seen him, either. I thought Granger, Green, and maybe Warrick were above May - you might not.

Um actually I'm pretty sure I have, but thanks for speaking for me. I've been watching Green for some time now. I've watched multiple video clips on him from the time he was being scouted for college, and he played in the McD's HS game. Where he scored ig, but frankly he was an obvious ball hog. NEVER passed and took every shot possible, but you've seen... um... nothing.

But lets see. Green has been scouted as having no ball handling skills, no defensive skills, and forces his shot. His positives are he's extremely athletic and has potential to be good. May on the other hand is scouted as being a smart player with good hands, can go either way in the post, and is a solid team leader. His negatives are he needs to get in better shape and isn't tall. hmmm...

I wouldn't have complained with any of the guys you suggested, but to say May isn't on par or better than those listed is crazy. Hell if May were 3 inches taller, I'd damn near bet he'd be the #1 overall pick, and that sentiment was stated by a number of your scouts when he first entered the draft.
