We will see, I try not to hold where they went to college against NBA players.

I honestly think there was a good bit of thought behind drafting two Carolina/ACC guys. If you look at the tryout in Charlotte, it consisted of Felton, May, McCants, Hodge and a couple others. Sounds to me they were determined to get at least one Carolina guy in there, and hoping for two of them. So yes, I think the local appeal had some influence in the draft planning. But on the other hand, wouldn't you draft McCants over May because McCants is from Asheville? Just a thought...

IMHO, I was wanting Charlotte to draft Hakim Warrick at #13. I always liked his style of play at Syracuse and it would make the team more well-rounded.

Picking Felton at 5was not a bad move.If you look at the fact that the Bobcats had no PG on the roster on then a Backup PG.Also can in mind that if the bobcats did not take Felton at 5.Then torn would have take him at 7.Or LA at 10.Could we got a good PG with the 13pick i don't so.If we take juck at 13.Please keep in mind that Juck had alt of tronover at GT.So is this the PG that you want to lead your team.As far as MAY go.who would you rather have MAY or Vilnova

You can't argue with that, folks.

Villanueva wasn't an option at 13, Dukey. But if he had been, I'd take him over May.

I just don't see that. I can't think of one thing that Villeneuva does better than May. Here are their averages last year

    May
    2004-05 37 26.8 17.5 10.7 1.7 2.5 1/1.5 1.2 1.0 2.4 .567 .758 .000 1.61

    CV
    2004-05 31 25.8 13.6 8.3 1.3 2.3 1/1.8 0.6 1.8 2.2 .521 .688 .500 1.38

I felt like Villanueva had the better chance to play outside, and wouldn't need to lose 40 lbs to do so. The basic idea that CV, IMO, would be able to play a position that we didn't already have a star at, was a bonus, too. That and CV being a player rated higher, more potential, etc., like most of the guys in this draft.

I could make similar arguments for any of the more natural wing players we passed over, too.

Felton was also a good pick because Brevin Knight may not resign with the team....we needed a pg and he would have been gone

Bernie liked villanueva, and probably would have taken him

Felton and May playing together for three years is going to help also

So, you'd put him at C and play him away from the basket like Divac?
