Felton seemed to go way too early. I can almost buy May at 13 but Felton at 5?????

    I'm very pleased.

We took the players that were projected at that point in the draft.

I do not know the NBA that well but most mock had Felton going lower than five. It seems suspicious that they took two carolina players...

I am not asking you about the NBA doofus. I'm asking you about the players that were available (meaning not already in the NBA). About 1/2 the mocks I saw had Felton at 5. I agree that is a little high for him in a normal draft, but I just don't see anyone better than him that was still on the board.

Im sure it factored in with Felton a little, but damn its not like they wasted the pick.
With May, I bet its more of a coincidence.

I would say this is an obvious yes.

Granger and Green were still available. But between the three of them, May is the best player. The others might have filled a need, but May is definitely the better player. That's the way I would play the draft.

As part of my lack of knowledge of the NBA I do not follow college players outside the ACC very closely or highschoolers at all. I know a lot of mocks had the highschool kid Green ranked higher than Felton for a long time. Felton seems too soft for the NBA.

felton was a pick based on merit, 100%. I can handle him being here, and since the other good points had gone, I can't argue with the value. I'd rather have had him than, say, Villanueva or Frye, but all three had a value to this team. I don't feel like he was a top 5, but there wasn't anything else at PG anywhere near him so I can accept the slight reach.

May? He's talented, but at best he looks like he'll be a situational roleplayer on a team that's got only a few starters, and they're written in pencil. I'd rather have had a potent SF that can shoot, than an oversized PF on a team that already had a great PF, but I imagine they've got something planned for him at some point.

Still, it seems like we did leave better players on the board at 13, players who fit in positions we needed.
