Did Anakin's turn to the darkside really matter?

    Luke is NOT the chosen one. Anakin is because he kills the emperor and restores balance to the force, even though he turned to the dark side, it was his destiny to, in the end, kill the emperor and restore peace to the galaxy. The only role Luke plays is helping Anakin search out his true feelings. Anakin was more powerful than Obi-Wan, but Obi-Wan had more discipline and experience. I mean Obi Wan did chop off his legs and watch him burn while he stood there practically untouched by Anakin. Yoda would beat Anakin's ass. The Emperor was just so powerful, and Yoda stood his own against him. The Emperor killed about 5 Jedi's in a row when they tried to capture him.

    Leia is the chosen one, because she sent the message to Obi Wan that got the ball rolling for Luke to start his training so that he could confront and turn Anakin so that he could defeat the emperor.

    Didn't Yoda drop his lightsaber during the battle as well? Seems that would play into it getting the heck out of there too.
