so what you're saying is that you have absolutely no ability to actually engage in a discussion of the topic and instead have lock onto some perceived imperfection in my posts like some kinda pitbull in a death grip.

you say i am incapable of admitting a mistake and yet you seem to ignore the followup post:

"maybe "put them over the top" wasn't the right way to say it since they clearly aren't over any top since they lost in the ecf, but i think his addition to that team was significant to their improvement. "

i could understand, tho, how you would want to ignore that post since it pointed out how you claimed boozer missed 33 games when he missed only 23.

also, thanks for the memories. looking back at that thread yielded this gem of yours: "Rose basically is that team."

16-8 without rose (not including the win despite rose) with quality wins over elite teams.

but back to the point, "over the top" does indeed mean something. i don't know if you'd say the bulls are "over the top" yet. maybe, maybe not. maybe landing hamilton will get them there. now before you claim i think hamilton is more important than everybody else i failed to mention just now, maybe you should take your own advice and consider the meaning of words and phrases as it relates to "over the top".

as for the quote about being hard pressed to beat 50 games, i think i understand now. you don't even know the nba well enough to understand that winning 50 games is pretty good. the bulls are 16-8 without rose which would translate to 54-55 wins over the course of a season (not that 24 games can really be projected to 82). it takes a LOT to break 60 wins in a regular season. you think it was all rose's doing -- that he is the whole team. and yet, here they are winning 66% of their games without him.

maybe if the bulls management goes completely insane and fails to renew thibodeau's contract we'll get to see the bulls without him and get a comparison.

No one on this entire board agreed with you, while multiple people made fun of the comments I quoted because they were spectacularly stupid and clearly wrong. It's also true that you do not EVER admit to being wrong, even when it is proven beyond any shadow of any doubt. You're a coward who can't man up to his own mistakes.

Stop trying to make excuses for your cowardice. The Bulls won 41 games during the '09-'10 season. Last season they won 62. Meanwhile you said: "maybe they get to 50 wins. maybe." 50 - 41 = 9. 62 - 50 = 12. So you're saying that Boozer and Thibodeau were significantly more important than Rose's improvement in the season where he won the MVP award. And that's without even addressing the fact that you qualified 50 wins with two "maybes." That was fucking retarded.

Boozer has actually been a bust as a free agent signing because he hasn't come close to earning that contract, and the Bulls are arguably a better team with Taj Gibson in the game. I do give credit to Thibodeau, but saying that he and Boozer were more important made you look like the idiot you are. S_Nut, you don't know basketball, which is why you also keep clowning yourself by insisting that the Bobcats shouldn't worry about high draft picks. I am no basketball expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm the one who knew a lot more than you clowns because if you look back, I'm the one who criticized taking on contracts like Nazr Mohammed and Matt Carroll while idiots like you and Thelt praised the team. You don't know enough about any subject, but you pretend to know about them all and never admit the many mistakes you make while trying to act like you know what you're talking about. You're a joke.

    blah, blah, blah.

you're an idiot. and since you're clearly impressed when people agree with somebody, i suspect i'll find most people agree with me.

do you honestly think that basketball teams work that way? in 92, the bulls won 57 games with michael jordan leading the way. then he retired. in 93, they won 2 fewer games. are you going to argue then that michael jordan was only worth 2 games? or that steve kerr and toni kukoc were about equal to jordan in importance to the team?

the bulls won 62 games that season. is it your opinion that each player can be allocated some number of wins? apparently you think rose's mere improvement counts for well over 12 of those wins, so as a player in general how many wins do you think he earned the club? 20? that would put the bulls as a .500 team without rose, which they clearly are not.

and that's not even considering the obvious factor that not all wins are equal. you can't win 60 games unless you beat some really good teams.

seriously, your grasp of the topic is infantile.

boozer may be overpaid. but that has no bearing on his importance to the team. taj gibson is a nice player, but has no offensive ability to speak of. is the defense better with gibson? probably, but you can't win if you don't score the ball. boozer lead the team in scoring without rose and is third on the team with him (fractions behind deng). boozer is also the #2 rebounder and leads the team in fg%. 15.3 and 8.7 in 30 minutes is damn good.

which of course i never said, but please don't let that stop you.

i know way more about basketball than you do, which is pretty obvious. people complain about teams that make the playoff and get swept, but that's because they care about those teams winning. nobody gives a fuck about the bobcats cuz they know they suck. eventually they might end up getting lucky, but what happens in the meantime? how long will the franchise last in constant lotto fever? there is no fan support for the team just as there was none for the hornets -- and the hornets were a pretty decent team.

we agree there -- you are no expert. i never commented on carroll. but i do like your revisionism on mohammed. was his contract horrible? they moved it, so i guess not. was he worthless like you maintained? nope. did you ever admit you were wrong about that? nope. you only pointed to other people also being wrong. he finished the season with charlotte grabbing 7 boards and putting up 9 points. for 6 mil a year. that's not a horrible contract.

i actually stick to the topics that i DO know about -- hence the lack of mistakes.

i watch a ton of nba basketball. i watch 0 college basketball. i comment all the time on nba ball and not at all on college ball. i don't comment on football or baseball or any other sport really because i don't follow them.

The reason I keep quoting those same two posts is because your own words prove you wrong no matter how much you try to pretend you didn't say what you very clearly did.

Except that you don't. I've acknowledged that I'm far from an expert on basketball and yet I repeatedly embarrass you and prove you wrong. For example...

How fucking clueless are you that you don't know about George Shinn's role in destroying the Hornets' fan support? Charlotte still holds five of the top 10 NBA attendance totals of all-time, with no other franchise having more than one. And how much of an idiot are you that you're going to pretend the NBA allowing the Hornets to move and the city building an arena even though people voted it down isn't responsible for the lack of Bobcats fan support?

Thanks for proving that you cannot admit to being wrong about anything by pretending that the Mohammed trade was in any way defensible. Even Clay admitted he was wrong about that, and I think Thelt would too. You're actually comical at this point.

Lack of mistakes? People constantly prove you wrong in this forum and in the politics forum, you just refuse to admit to ever being wrong about anything because you're such a gigantic coward.

    i'm sure you think so.

i believe if the bulls had kept del negro as coach and didn't add boozer they would have been hard pressed to get to 50 wins. that has no fucking bearing whatsoever on how important i think rose's improvement was to winning 62 games. none.

and what bearing does that have on my statements? i said the hornets lacked fan support (they left town due to it). i said the bobcats lacked fan support. and you're now supposedly embarrassing me by explaining how what i said was true?

dude. you should look back at the mohammed thread. it's quite amusing. you were quite vehement that mohammed was "useless" and that his contract was untradable. and yet mohammed put up decent numbers and was eventually traded. you acted like the team picked up jerome james or something. and can you explain to me exactly what free agent they missed out on by having mohammed on the books?

for a guy who "admits" to not being an expert, you certainly have a high opinion of your basketball iq when it comes to judging personnel moves.

i admit when i'm wrong, it just doesn't happen that often.

Evidently in your mind it absolutely never happens because you absolutely never admit to being wrong. Also...

i will admit that i was wrong about one thing -- i thought bulls without rose would not do very well, but here they are doing pretty well. they really do play a whole different style of offense without rose and it's been pretty successful. further evidence rose's mvp award was probably not deserved.

side note, rose has gotten really fucking carried away with himself. he said something a while back about how he's gotta be the only superstar who the refs don't respect (he actually referred to himself as a superstar). recently he was talking about how fame isn't for him cuz he's not that kind of guy and people in the region just don't know how to act around famous people because they haven't seen it enough recently. and he's supposed to be this humble dude?
