I think that's exactly what will happen. They'll stash Basanez on the PS for this year.

Sewards only practiced a couple of days. For this game, they're going to look at the guys who have practiced 1st. That's all this is. Its an order of appearance for the 1st preseason game, except for Steve Smith. Would you leave him off the depth chart? Remember, he;s just a touch tempremental. :)

Robertson making it would knock someone out, because the top four spots are locked up. But in any case, I don't believe that the first preseason depth chart means a whole lot. It could and should change significantly based on what people do in the games and through camp the rest of the way.

    >>>Panthers | Adams could be on the bubble
    Sat, 19 Aug 2006 08:48:56 -0700

Pat Yasinskas, of the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers LB Keith Adams may find himself on the bubble for a roster spot. Adams is basically a special teams player and the numbers could work against him when it comes time to trim the roster.<<<

so Diggs would start at Will, backed up by Anderson and maybe Seward would back up Morgan? As was stated many thought Draft would be behind Morgan . . . Ciurciu has been invisible so far, and i thought Seward was projected as more of a Sam type

That's from his own blog on Charlotte.com. Yasinskas didn't get any indication from anybody within the Panthers organization that Adams could be cut. Adams has much more value to the defense than Ciurciu and Tufts. With the depth we have this year, I'm certain that we will carry seven linebackers.

Also, it's pissing me off that Draft is backing up at OLB rather than ILB, and Vinny is the 2nd team MLB.

Adams, Anderson, Ciurciu, Davis, Diggs, Draft, Kyle, Morgan, Seward
    That’s NINE . . . Can’t keep ‘em all
last i heard we are only around 1 mil under cap and as money conscious as our FO is Seward is likely to stick if he keeps playing the way he did last week. If he’s significantly cheaper than the alternatives that’s just another plus in his column.

    So, who gets the axe?!
