Here's what the coach had to say:

On quarterback Jake Delhomme: Obviously, there were some big throws he made. I thought there were a couple of questionable calls on completes or incompletes. But again, you are going to get those in every ball game every week. There is definitely room for improvement, and that is what makes this thing so exciting. He is a resilient young man. He will come back and he will work and he will put the proper time into it in preparation. I look for him just to continue to grow.

Coach Fox sounds like us. We need to get him on the Delhomme thread.

We need to get some players to hit that thread.

That is so good to hear. I don't want musical chairs at QB.

He's got 2 weeks practice with the first team to get ready for the Falcons and the support of the whole Panthers family.

He showed some balls at the end with some big time completions. The INTS were ugly but he has a fire in his belly that I have never seen at QB for Carolina. It must be them Creole Shrimp and Redfish from the Bayou.

If Weinke would have put up the same stats as Jake did yesterday, you fuckers would have met the plane carrying torches, pitchforks, and a rope.

The difference is that Weinke would have lost, making it his 16th consecutive loss as a starter.

Delhommes thrown more INTs than TDs but thats all our QBs. We need a real O coordinator/QB coach or none of them will ever be any good.

It was the Bucs, and he did enough. A couple of bad throws, a couple of good ones, a couple of long catches that were taken away by refs.

Fox told the broadcasters earlier that week that he wanted to take away ALL the risk. Well, that's tough to do with an ichy fingered young QB, but he was pretty successful. We won, and that's the bottom line.

exactly... Delhomme played better than I expected... his screw ups were limited and his completions came at times we NEEDED a completion... he did as good doing what he was supposed to do as any QB can in the NFL vs this Bucs team
