He had some troubles yesterday - mainly sailing it and dropping it, not to mention the near game ending pick on 3rd and 7 on that last drive.

But goddam if he didn't step up when everything was on the line. He showed the craftiness that he did in 2003, when nobody thought we could win it, he won it.

And what a nice 12 yard scramble on 4th and 7. Fuck yeah, Jake.

I don't believe the sailing problems were there that badly. The fumbles, that's gotta go. He needs to be more decisive in empty set and guys need to get open.

Dude, I just proved you wrong about that. I actually went through and counted, so you really need to shut up now with what you "believe."

    meat:
The run was cool, but Jake didn't win the game for us, Kasay did. Jake nearly gave the game away with the near Cox INT, and then he didn't hit Smitty down the field on that last pass attempt. Some were saying that Smith dropped it, but he did not. Delhomme threw it behind him, which allowed Will Allen to reach in with his right hand and knock it down. I give Delhomme credit not only for making the run, but that apparently being just his decision to do so. So I think Jake was decent, but give credit where it is actually due.

This is the 'Delhomme' thread. I'll give Kasay credit in the 'Kasay' thread, or any other thread.

Fine, but don't say "he won it" then, because it really makes you look like you don't have a damn clue what you're talking about.

Everyone contributed. Kasay's contribution was the most impressive, obviously.

Hell, even Gross contributed by not completely sucking in the final 2 minutes.

how about "no"? I don't believe, by your numbers or my recollection, that four sailed passes is excruciating. To me, that's pretty much what I said, that I don't believe it's that big a deal.

Did he get picked off on that last drive?

    No.

Did he see the seam and run for th ecritical 1st down?

    Yes.

Jake had as much to do with this win as anyone (and would have been shouldering most of the blame if they had lost).

I was just glad to see there was some game discussion in this thread after the 1st 2 pages of meatpile's man-crush on....
