considering how most people think we're going to be uncapped, I don't see the difference. I'm not convinced we'll be uncapped though, so that'll suck.

I mean for the same money I'd as well just have the guy around.

You'd pay that much for a guy who would be a 3rd stringer anywhere else?

Influenced largely by the Peppers situation handcuffing us. I don't think Jake was going anywhere even if he had played out his last contract.

No way, no how is that worse than the acquisition of Sean Gilbert.

I do not even see it as a top ten worst blunder in team history. Lets see:

    Doug Evans
    Chuck Smith
    Hartwig
    Rae Carruth
    Bruce Nelson
    Dan Morgan's extension
    William Floyd
    Jeff Lewis
    Jimmy Hitchcock
    and of course Sean Gilbert

    Just a quick note

Let's see. We could hope that Ray Ray will get early release.

I still have Dan Morgan's extension and letting Witherspoon go, as my biggest Panther front-office blunder. As much as I was mad at Jake after his playoff game flop, I do agree that they were just looking to extend someone's (already) big contract in order to pay Peppers the moon. Had we not had to come up with all that $$$ for Peppers, I "want" to believe we would've never extended Jake.
