I keep on wishing Jake to prove me wrong, but my problem with him is one game he will look like Joe Montana and the next game he will look like David Carr. What is the problem with the consistency?? One thing you ALWAYS know for sure about Jake is he going to be consistently inconsistent. I just don't get it. I can tell how much he loves to win when he wins a close game or any game, but some games he just seems like a robot that nothing anybody can do will bring him out of his funk. But it looks we're stuck with him. I still don't think there's any way he'll last 5 years without getting seriously re-injured, I kept on waiting for it to happen last year. Anyway, I couldn't sell my season tickets this year, I had to buy them, but they're paid for now, so I'll be there another season, hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. If I can sell my tickets for half price at the games, I may just go to the tailgate and stay there and watch the game since we have a big tent and TV now. Bathroom inside, beer I brought from the grocery store that the whole 12 pack costs the same as 1 beer inside, and replays and free food. I know I'm rambling, I'm going to beat my meat now.

Jake's extension was done to create cap room and nothing more. Nobody believes he will be the QB in 5 years. He will be the QB for the next 3 unless he has another melt down.

Id love to see the real numbers from the contract. How much is not likely to be earned, back loaded into the end of the deal, etc.

    I just got them:

    2009 $3.2 mil base salary $5.391 mil pro-rated amount - $8.591 total cap
    2010 $1.625 mil base salary $3.16 mil pro-rated amount - $4.785 total cap
    2011 $1.74 mil base salary $4.005 mil pro-rated amount - $5.745 total cap
    2012 $2.70 mil base salary $4.005 mil pro-rated amount - $6.704 total cap
    2013 $3.66 mil base salary $4.005 mil pro-rated amount - $7.665 total cap
    2014 $4.62 mil base salary $3.38 mil pro-rated amount - $8.0 total cap

No NLTBE bonuses. No workout bonuses. No roster bonuses. There are some option bonuses that change the pro-rated dollars, but they are pretty complicated and i would need to dig a little deeper to understand them better. Cutting him after 2012 would amount to about a wash of the cap in 2013 (we would save a few hundred grand).
