Is it just me or does this seem like an awful light sentence for blasting your husband with a shotgun in his gut as he walks through the front door of his house?

I just hope she gets her life together. She had great opportunities when she was in hs (she made A's & B's) and was supposed to go to college, but was talked out of it by her "friends".

I knew somebody when I lived in Columbia that knew her and her family and this guy said that the world was her oyster and that she got mixed up with a bad crowd her sr. yr. in hs. She followed the bad crowd to the Charlotte area, met Fred sometime later in a club, and later married him after her "friends" discovered that she had hit the "jackpot". She was forced by these so-called "friends" to bankroll their drugs, parties, and high living. From what I understand from this guy was that Fred found out about what was going on and was going to divorce her. She panicked when she realized (and her "friends") that the revenue stream was going to dry up. She knew he had a huge insurance policy and she had to do something. Hence, the shooting and the robbing of banks.

Her family was devastated when she shot Fred and was convicted of murder and bank robbery.

Don't think that I think what she did was right because it wasn't. She tried to get out from under the influence of those thugs, but it's like being in a gang; the only way to get out is to die.

So, let's hope that she gets her life together and gets away from her bad influences because if you read some of the articles, she basically behaved in prison.

No, you have to be a horrible fucking person to murder someone like that in cold blood. It's not a matter of what crowd she ran with, it's a matter of her being human scum.

I have to go with the thinking that while bad folks can indeed influence you and lead you down a wrong path, they can't make you kill if it isn't already in there. Same with all Chuckie Manson's girls - some of them were little rich girls and certainly they were vulnerable, but Linda Kasabian chose NOT to kill and was horrified enough to get out and then testify. No, she didn't turn them in which she should have, but you could credit that to fear for her life and her child's life.
