"deepest draft in years"

i heard this about the 2010 nfl draft. because of the potential for junior entries?

 

They say that every few years, but really it depends on position QB and TE look pretty thin this year.

 

hmm.. i thought QB looked pretty deep

 

How might rookie deals be affected by a contractual impasse?

 

no work in 2011 would leave a bunch of kids out there that never would've earned a dime.

Then again that would allow them to go to other leagues, too. You know, the CFL and UFL might benefit from lower level kids who want to work.



alternately, I've heard that owners want the cap to go down, so the rookie deals might be one of the few places they can pull that off. Putting a payscale together for first round players would be a start, and it doesn't take food out of the existing players' mouths.

 

DL and LB are incredibly deep.

 

too bad, the Panthers don't have any draft picks
