  2. i don't think it will happen until mayor pat is out of office. it was pretty obvious that stern hates him and the feeling is mutual...the bridges have been burned.

Why is the NBA looking to expand anyways? the talent is too watered down already.

    NBA stuff

I fear that you are right about the current NBA top dogs and the Charlotte city council. I think there is more bad blood than anyone knows. Stern and the NBA are trying to placate a pissed off Charlotte fan base (which they know to be valuable) with talk of expansion but I don't feel at this point that this thing has any legs. the NBA knows that Charlotte got screwed by Shinnridge, but at the same time really had no option then to allow relocation.
Things need to start happening fast if this is going to get done, every day the passes without action by either side, the chances diminish.

  4. Stern can be flexible, if...

    Two things are involved:
    1. Larry Bird
    2. Money. Lots of it.

The NBA avoided lawsuits from Shinnridge by letting those two bead-loaded dirtbags migrate to the Big Easy (NO Wossa, not your old High School sweetheart!).

The NBA acknowledges the Charlotte market is very viable, and has been proven to be able to support an NBA franchise.

SO, if there's an arena deal...

Are Larry wants to help run the team here...

Methinks Charlotte will have a "fresh start"

Any of you guys notice that since George & Ray left, the smell that I previously blamed on the Pineville Waste Treatment plant has dissipated. A definite correlation.

What's going to happen if we get another NBA team and attendance is around say 15,000? I for one don't plan on going to any games, unless I get free tickets!!! Not to mention they will suck for about five years because they won't have any talent.

    BRING AAA BASEBALL BACK DOWNTOWN!!!

We did for 3 seasons. The Charlotte Rage whipped ass. The last year it was at Independence Arena and it was the fuckin' coolest. You could sit 2nd row in the end zone for 6 bucks. I went to every game. You were so close you could heckle the players almost as well as I can the Knights opponents. Greensboro and Raleigh now have teams.
