No thanks. I think it's in really poor taste and don't want to support it.

what's the poor taste part? i don't really know much more than it's supposed to be a mocumentary about a presidential assassination and the "historical" fallout that follows. it seems like a kinda of neat idea -- particularly with the public's fascination with news as entertainment. it's a novel way to tell a story.

edit: okay, i take some of that back. i didn't realize they were literally "killing" george bush -- i thought it was going to be a semi-alternate universe with different players. still an interesting idea, but no way to pull it off with real people as the fictional subject, imo.

The movie starts with Bush being killed ala Lee Harvey Oswald style.

I never said pay to see the movie. There are lots of ways to get around that. As much as I despise Bush's policies, I wouldn't celebrate his assassination.

Ok, I watched 42 minutes of it. It almost put me to sleep. My guess, the only way this director could get any recognition was to make a controversial movie instead of a good one.

It's an interesting question, and it's a bit of a shame that they had to try to politicize it so much. We're only one president removed from the whole zero year election phenomenon.

But, since we have had presidential deaths at much, much more trying times than we currently have now, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that we'd be fine.
