Now that the season has concluded for the Yankees, it's time to look to the future. With our fondest well-wishes, we hope you retire and transfer control of the Yankees to your 'hands-off' son-in-law. It is our hope that he will instruct Brian Cashman to jettison all the old, overpaid players on the roster and initiate a youth movement, while using free-agency effectively rather than exclusively.

We also think it would be a mistake to fire Joe Torre, but hopefully that decision would be left to Cashman. It would be somewhat more palatable if he fired Joe rather than it coming from one of your knee-jerks.

    Here's to the future!

    Sincerely,

    math

    PS: the Red Sox suck.

Cashman will probably see the door....he wants out anyway. The Yanks free up close to 50 million this year.Brown,Williams, and Matsui...35 million to three players.

Look for the Yanks to resign Matsui and go after a center fielder on the market.Set up men for the bullpen are also a high priority.

It's time for MLB to investigate Joe West....this guy really has something against the Yankees. It's been going on for about 15 years.

Rumor has Cashman going to my Phillies after Oct 31 when his contract officially ends. Working for an owner that will stay out of his way and has deep enough pockets but not stupid must be a nice draw.

As far as the players already in NY I'd resign Matsui. His appeal the orientals and the evenue he pulls in is worth the 10 mil he will get. Look for Seattle and the Giants to go after him hard. If you could get id of Johnson and pay some of his salary I'd do it. Same thing for Mussina. Older than dirt and already showing signs of decline. get some prospects and start to rebuild their farm system. Bernie is toast needless to say. Hopefully Pavano and Wright can become something

what difference does it make whether or not there is $50 million or $100 million freed up? Do you honestly beieve money is an object with Steinbrenner? (I know, to a lesser degree it's the same with the Sox).

the centerfielder will be Ken Griffey Jr.

I assume you refer to Robinson Cano running inside the baseline. The camera don't lie. He shoulda been called out.

We talking about the Sox game here? That was one of the worst fucking calls I have ever seen. The fucker was on the infield fucking grass and they somehow decided that was within the baseline.

that was a bush league call for that magnitude of game. He was on the line. IF he had been running completely outside the baseline the ball would have hit him in the ass. Did it change the outcome of the game? No one will ever know.
