    Actually this is a hard one to debate since both of those two are the epitomy to Rap/HipHop music. I'll have to go with Tribe though.

    But I'll go with DLS.
    Still like the Roots better, musically, but the lyrics are more hit and miss and there's only one personality fronting them.

    dang! I actually saw Tribe and De La Soul at the same show at The Mad Monk in Wilmington years ago. (The Alcoholics also played) and it was the best hip-hop show ive ever seen.(ive only been to about three(P.E, the Roots, and the one mentioned above). both are great because they aren't all G'd out like everything else.

    Yep. I love anybody who can flow, doesn't worry about image or getting in a movie, all that.

    Common (who also has some damn good flow) wrote an article a while back in RS about how to save hip hop. Good article.
