I've read a ton of stuff on this "conspiracy" along with histories on early Christianity.

I do believe in many of the points that are made, regarding the Bible, canon law, Jesus' family, the actions of the early church to stamp out heresies such as gnosticism, Thomasine churchs, the Cathars, etc. Also, the role of Mary Magadelene is very interesting if you read some of the Nag Hammadi books.

There are also some thoughts that there was a great deal of conflict between Paul and the James led church in Jerusalem. Eventually, Pauline thought won out and we have the patriarchal Christian church that we have today.

Do I believe that the Priory of Sion is protecting the bloodline of Christ? Not really. I'm not sure that the PS isn't just a hoax of a right wing French political group, but I do think there is so much more to the story of Christ's life and the life of his followers, that we will probably never know.

That said, it's a fascinating theory or theories, as the case may be, and makes for great conjecture.

While I realize this book was a work of fiction, it's probably the closest thing to the real truth as we're ever likely to see.

I've read and heard bits and pieces of the numerous elements that make up this complex and multilayered mystery for several years now, but never have I seen all of those elements brought together in such a way as to bring the big picture into focus.

There is so much that fits and "finally makes sense" in the great secret revealed by this book. Constantine is revealed to be perhaps the greatest con artist in human history, and centuries of murder, corruption, persecution and tyranny are put into perspective.

Truly, the sacred feminine in western civillization - not only in religion, but society as a whole - has been choked down and smothered for far too long. We are now beginning to see a slow and gradual awakening as obsolete traditions and dogmatic b.s. have been tossed aside.

This book truly "sings her song." Everyone should read it.

The best sequence is when they are in the library of Teabing and he goes through the "Last Supper" picture etc... Great theory and to be somewhat believeable as a "parttime"Catholic.
