Stick with the 7.25% or else you're liable to get a sdplusbeauty kinda rate.

Thelt, you will get destroyed with that credit score if you try to get another car. I'd just hold tight and try to put as few miles as possible on it. When the market rebounds, sell it yourself (don't trade it in as you will always get less because a dealer is working a profit into the deal). It is possibly that the SUV market will rebound this winter as gas prices come down.

Thanks for the support guys. I am going to try to do the financially responsible thing and keep this car until I can sell it or it is paid off. I wish I could be one of those people who will drive their car until it falls apart. I am that way with other things. I will wear clothes until they wear out if they fit right and look good. I will keep a computer ten years or until I can no longer get it to run anything. I do not buy expensive electronics, I have a standard 27" TV. Cars are my weakness though. I have 23 payments left on it so if I can just suck it up a little longer....

I can tell you from my experience to just keep at it. I had a $7500 expense happen during the middle of getting out of debt and it absolutely took the wind out of my sails. But, I hung in there, moped around for a couple of weeks, and then got mad and got fired up again. Trust me, the feeling we have this month of actually having control of all of our money is simply the best. Just keep fighting. The end result is completely worth it!!!

If I do not add any new debt and I keep paying the amounts I have budgeted each month for my debt snowball I will be out of debt by the end of 2010. I just have to keep that goal at the forefront.

If more people took Dave Ramsey's advice we would not be in this credit crisis. Palin said during the debate that individuals need to be more responsible with their money. That had to be a bit unpopular but it was dead on. Just because the bank will lend you enough money to buy a house you can not afford and give you a low enough adjustable rate so you can make the payments is not a reason to actually do it.

I am still plugging along. I made a payment on one of my credit cards this month of over $1,000 while still paying the minimums on every thing else. Man that felt good.

Thelt, good job my man. Knock them out. I've had people at work ask why i am so calm and I tell them it's because I don't have payments. I could deliver pizzas and make enough to pay my mortgage and bills. Great place to be!!! Keep fighting the good fight my man. It truly is worth it

I am planning on sending another $1,000 to that card next month while paying the minimum on everything else. In six months my highest rate card will be paid off.
