Apparently the falcons are after Jackson and Thigpen (believe it or not). I wouldn’t be surprised if Scott ended up in Atlanta since they are getting so much positive hype already. Gaaaak
I don't mind if we don't get him (and we won't), I just do not want anyone in our division to get Scott (we couldn't cover him).

My main concern is depth. We have none. If we can get a guy to sign a one year minimum deal that can start, great. A possession veteran with good hands that can step up if one of the top 3 go down. I suppose Hankton could be that guy if it came to it.

I would like to see him signed. Piper is right though, he will demand more than the min - although not a lot more. Counting on Jeffers starting the season isn't smart. I'm wondering if the guy will ever be able to play at a high level again. I would say too that Jeffers really only had ONE good year anyway. Looks like we may be looking at WR early in the draft next year too. Good thing that WR will be a LOADED position in the next draft.

Can you clear up how he might end up with the Ravens? I thought they were stuck because Boulware and Lewis won't restructure.

they were the highest profile team that I felt needed some help, and he'd go minimum for them. They're still in the division, some guys look for that type of situation.

Plus I imagine I got it stuck in my mind that they were looking to trade for Pickens and got the two confused.
He could certainly go to Atlanta or any number of other places as well, but for some reason the Ravens stick out.

Seattle is my guess, complete their 3 wide set.

I don't care where Scott goes...as long as it's NOT Carolina! He's had too many attitude problems and seems to have what I call Derek Alexander syndrome, meaning he gets hurt when the team starts losing or a game is out of reach...which in Cinncy is all the time!

is that sorta like the Moose syndrome?

we gotta find some kinda help at wr. hard to believe that either Byrd or Smith will fit the bill as a #2. plus we have no depth.

Moose and Byrd really don't compliment each other well. Both are more like posession WR's. Smith...well, he could emerge, but I would venture to say he isn't completely ready yet.
We have a similar situation at WR as to our CB issues. We have a host of posession type guys at WR and a slew of Nickle backs on the corners.
Bascally we have a WCO crew of WR, hopefully Smith will step up?

Scott can get deep and we need that. He has a lot left in the tank and would be a good sign. Again, it would be unlikely however.
