    just released

I'd like to have him, though we'd only be able to pay him the minimum. Seems like their are suitors with more cash looking for his services. He really had a good end of last year, which suggests his leg is ok.

He'll probably go to the Ravens or something like that. I'd like to have him for a year, the minimum isn't out of the question ATP but 1-15 team probably is.

very difficult to take a step down from the bungles, probably not what any player would want to do.

It's more the direction the team is headed and the Panthers are headed in the right direction.

I don't know what to think. Where Fox feels weak, he's been outspoken about it. So for him not to say we need WR help, then I don't see us making a move for anything more than a #4 WR. Besides, bring in someone now IMO would disrupt Smith and Byrd. With them eyeing the #2 &#3 spots, an established WR would move them down the depth chart. I'm not sure how Smith would handle possibly going from a 2 to a 4, (not that I really care what he thinks).

Henning mentioned it as a weakness. I think it's on the Panthers.com Q&A with Dan Henning.

tell the truth, we're going to be weak there. I kinda expected it, Jeffers or not. Finding a solution now would possibly keep us from making the right move, getting a WR in the draft next year. Not that it would, but too many teams get good feelings because a guy put up 50 catches and they think that it's enough. I'd like to have a young, fast guy up there next to Muhammad, not another middle of the road posession receiver who puts up stats and moves the chains sometimes.

I'd absolutely love to have Roy Williams or Kelley Washington next year, even though I want a DT more.
