Probably our #2 starting corner in a few games.

"It’s never a good day when a quarterback has a career day against you. Darius Butler and Devin McCourty both struggled at times against the Jets’ veteran receivers. One mistake they both seemed to display was opening their hips to the inside or outside before the receiver made a move. This gave the receiver the option to take whatever side of the field they didn’t. They played far off the line of scrimmage for many times without jamming the receiver (could be the Patriots’ system) which enabled Sanchez to use the underneath routes consistently. Butler at times would get caught watching the QB which let the player run by. The good news is, when they McCourty did watch the receiver he was good at getting in position and not allowing the player to get open."

"As much as it pains me to say, Darius Butler had one of the worst weeks for a CB this year. 2 huge penalties in addition to 14.8 yards per reception against and a TD allowed. Oh, and a 157.6 rating against. And this was against Mark Sanchez. I watched the whole game, and he just couldn’t seem to key in on the ball while it was in the air. Hopefully this is just a technique issue and not something larger, because the kid has potential. That said, the Buffalo passing attack this week is a good remedy for what ails you. If he struggles against the like of Roscoe Parrish, I won’t be surprised at all if he’s not starting come Week 4."

This looks like a good move to me. Sounds like he got in BB's dog house and could not get out. If he is any good he will have a great shot at playing time here since we do not have much at corner.

He has alot of upside and we won't loose much if he doesn't pan out. I'm hoping the change of scenery does him some good and he lives up to being a second round draft pick.

Yeah, but we didn't have to give up a first round pick to move up to draft Butler, we just signed him off the waiver wire.:xyxthumbs:
