#3 or 4 Ranked Wing player in this year's high school crop. I like him, and he'll be a good player, but he won't dominate. He's one of those extra pieces kinda players that help contribute. 4 Year guy.

    Danny Green

    6-5, 190
    Manhasset (N.Y.) St. Mary's

    Strengths:
Confident player who has the drive to be a good college prospect. Can really make shots from behind the 3-point line and has the body ready to play right away in college. He's hitting his stride. Beats you with his smarts and hoops IQ. Good range on his shot. Very strong. Moves well around the perimeter and isn't married to one spot on the floor.

    Weaknesses:
Could stand to do a better job of attacking the basket and rounding out his game. Average athlete isn't going to blow past guys. He’s not a guy who is going to beat players in the ACC off the dribble, but he’s going to get to the basket because he’s a big, strong kid -- he’s not the type of player who, when challenged, is going to reverse it under the rim for something spectacular.

    Signature Performance:
In the summer of 2004, Green was named Co-MVP of the Reebok ABCD Camp. His top game of the summer was in Las Vegas in July, when he went for 20 points in one half. That game in particular was late in the Big Time tournament and it was a situation where he came out and put a dagger in the opposing team. Made 5-of-7 from 3-point range.

    College Projection:
He's a piece of the puzzle kind of recruit at a good high-major program. He’ll probably play more 2 in college than anything else. This is a guy where if he goes to a team with good players around him, he’s a chemistry, piece-of-the-puzzle kind of guy. He doesn’t have to dominate the ball to be effective. He’s a guy you know is going to be a good player in college -- he would have to have an unbelievable college career to play at the next level, but you know that in college this is a guy who can win you some games and be productive for four years.

    Ranking:
No. 43 -- You can just count on him to be a productive player, because of his body, because of his strength and because he’s a skilled player -- it’s going to translate into the college game. He’s not an upside-, potential-guy. Rather, he is a productive guy.

    In Summary:
Easiest way to describe Danny Green is extremely solid. He’ll come into college with a college ready body, a jump shot he trusts from three-point range and he’ll rebound at his position.

Green will make a fine addition to Frasor, Ginyard, and Hansbrough who are all top 25 players and probable mickey d's. Roy is a hell of a recruiter. If we had the schollies that Matt Doherty wasted on some stiffs we don't need, Roy would sign the greatest class of all time. And to think of all the arguments I used to get into with people on other sites who thought Doherty was a "great" coach.

The ONLY probable McD's all-star is Hansbrough. With BIG years Frasier or Ginyard could, but at this point they're top 50 players not top 25. Though I'll admit Frasier is probably boarderline top 25.

My bad. I did think I read on one site where Ginyard and Frasor were like top 25's, that along with being UNC recruits, would make them probable mickey d's. Maybe Bob Gibbons? I don't know.

you have to have these guys for continuity now...You can't go after 5 top 25 kids anymore...You will get burned if you do.

The 5/8 rule is gone so I guess it's up to the coach to anticipate departures.
