No they aren't if they previously knew the recruit before the recruiting process begins. If Jawad and Roe know each other from years backs its not any type of violation.

eh... I'll admit to just scanning what you pasted.

 

Just because a former player played at the same high school as the recruit, doesn't mean he's recruiting him. Hell, just playing for a national championship team speaks volumes about going to UNC instead of a face-to-face meeting.

And last time I checked.....Coach Williams isn't Jawad's keeper, especially since Jawad graduated from UNC.

 

And where does it state that Roy is asking Jawad to do this?

 

FWIW sly's right. Regardless of if Roy asked him to do it or nit, its a recruiting violation. Generally considered minor and is normally at worst a slap on the wrist.
