Charles Barkley was 22 years ago man. 22 years.

But yeah, Charles was Charles, and Sean ain't. And neither one of them are getting drafted #1 no matter how many years they play at UNC.

my only point is the "fat" crap is just that "crap"

Bobby Knight cut Barkley off the 84 Olympic team because he was "fat" - multiple all star appearances later Barkley proved Knight was a dumbass.

Last year all any one heard was how May was "fat" - yet he posted unreal numbers and was often the first man down the court on the fast break - "fat" ass and all.

you can argue the "wonder if" game wiuth dukey all you want.

and Piper - I wasn't really being sarcastic. I'm sure they do set screens in the NBA - but with a 24 second shot clock I doubt you see many teams that will run that multiple screen weave that dook runs for jj - by the time he comes off his thrid screen the shot clock will be expired.

People love to compare Redick to other white outside shooters from the NBA past - but most of those were point guards that can shoot or catch and shoot players. Redick will NEVER be a point guard. And while he can catch and shoot that's not necessarily his game either.

Redick will likely be a better pro than I would give him credit for in the past but I still think he will truggle to be a star and will likely be a career journey man. Nothing to sneeze at since he'll still make millions.

Im done arguing with him lol, I much prefer when you weigh in.

Knight is a dumbass, didn't need Barkley to tell him that. And don't throw Barkley's accomplishments around lightly. There have been countless undersized PF's that came into the NBA the last 22 years (forget fat for a min). How many made an All-Star team? Brand is one. Is there another?

Barkley is one of the All Time greats. May is fast for his size, and I actually liked how he adapted his game before he got hurt. He wasn't getting blocked as much, and was actually making some nice shots. I'll never fault May's hustle or desire. I pull for him, I want him to do well. It looks like he's out for the year. He already plays the same position as Okafor. Wasted draft pick.

I hope he proves me wrong next year.

edit---as far as Redick, what makes me laugh are the Reggie Miller comparisons. Somehow it never comes up that Reggie has about 4 inches on JJ, big difference.

i may be partial, but i don't think picking May at 13 was bad at all. he was coming off a great year....and he had just won the Most Outstanding Player at the Final Four....you can't call that a bad pick.

I think he was worth a 13 pick, but not for this team, just wasn't what this team needed. But of course him and Okafor both are hurt so who knows.

I would have liked a SG/scorer, but I don't really know what the options were at 13. Hopefully they can fill that need this year via FA or draft depending on what pick they get.

I sure can if he turns out to be a bust.

Im holding out all hope, I'm just saying. Looks like a pretty shitty pick right now, not even considering we just drafted a damn PF last year.

edit---being the MOP at the Final Four means jack shit btw. Ask Anderson Hunt and Mateen Cleaves if you can find them.

May's got the body to be effective. I haven't seen much, well, any, of him this year, but he's a rook. But he needs to work on his jumper and show up in good shape in the offseason.

I still think Okafor can play an effective Center vs most teams in the league. He's shorter, but he's got athleticism and strength to play center on an athletic, up and down type team.

Dude, Tim Duncan would have been the number one pick if he had come out as a Sophomore, Junior, OR as a Senior (as he was).

Sean May is NO Tim Duncan.
