I think that is a nice addition, and upgrade over Nickleberry. We knew a black guy would get it that could recruit in the northeast in urban areas, and Dalonte hopefully has the connections for players from his AAU coaching.

He already lost his first recruiting battle, Demar Johnson chose Cincy over Charlotte. Wasn't that his buddy in high school?:D

    From today's Observer...

Hill to return as 49ers assistant

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Former Charlotte 49ers player Dalonte Hill will return as an assistant coach, two sources told the Observer on Thursday.

Hill, 6-foot-5, played three seasons, primarily as a sixth man. He helped the 49ers reach postseason play each year -- the NCAA tournament in 1997-98, in 1998-99 as Conference USA champions, and the National Invitation Tournament in 1999-2000. Unable to play as a senior after knee surgery, he dropped out, but returned to work in the basketball office and get his degree.

Hill has coached AAU basketball. He will fill the assistant's role on Bobby Lutz's staff left vacant when Kevin Nickleberry took a job at Clemson. -- LEONARD LAYE
