I don't have a problem with it. Spread the cap hit over 4 years. Cautiously optimistic

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Carolina Panthers agreed to contract terms with wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson on Thursday night.
The deal is for four years and includes a $5 million signing bonus, according to league sources.
The move should help bring balance to an offense that relied almost entirely on receiver Steve Smith last year. The Panthers view Johnson, one of the league's top possession receivers, as a perfect complement to Smith.
Johnson, who will turn 34 in July, had 71 catches for Dallas last season and also brings size and blocking skills that have been lacking at the position since the departure of Muhsin Muhammad after the 2004 season.

This takes away from the need for a tight end. We should be able to go BPA in the draft now. I am thinking we go for a linebacker. Still hope we add depth at running back.

Similar to Moose, re: getting open. Young guys wouldn't get him the ball because he didn't separate. Vets would. Figure Jake will take some time to adjust. Still can't believe we wanted another guy like that, but I was wrong.

And yes, we don't have to peter out at the goal anymore. still be fun to use Peppers, though.

Need is greatest at RB, IMO. Then, almost ironically, LB and S.

I don't think Jake will have any problems adjusting. He seems to like to throw to WRs who are covered.

I'm cautiously optimistic too. I hate his mouth, and the way he rebelled against Gruden, but he's an outstanding player. He behaved in Dallas. Maybe he grew up a tad. He likes Henning, and he will probably like Fox.

    double-covered, even.

    It should be interesting.

And good work scooping this to the mailing list, which got it here. And to the Lair. And I'm sure everywhere else after that.
