A little competition between Keyshawn and Smitty might not be a bad thing anyway as long as it does not end up in a brawl in the film room.

    Very good point, Thelt.

    meatpile:
There's not really any question that we overpaid for Keyshawn, Iwilleatu, and Foster, but I very much agree with you that Foster is the only one likely to bust completely (at least from what we can tell). So it's not that bad, because I do think we've improved our team tremendously, it just frustrates me to see so much money spent so unwisely. I think it's awesome that we're at least targetting the right players, though.

    magnus:
After the way you pointed out that Wahle and Lucas were an overreaction to personnel losses in previous years, I expected you to suggest that we overpaid again to replace Moose. I'd agree with you if you did. I would much rather have Keyshawn at his current price than Moose at his, but it does seem like a pretty consistent pattern for us to overspend on a free agent the year after we lose someone and couldn't adequately replace them through the draft (good point, Thelt).

I can't see Key wearing #2, but that'd be funny.

I do not think I have ever seen a guy wear #2, that would be funny.

I'm not a cap expert, but don't we get to spread the bonus over the whole 4 years? If so, doesn't that make it 2.1 this year, 3.1 next year, and a hit if we cut him in year 3?
