    Guess McCann won't be leaving

He was one of the players mentioned in a possible trade with Boston for Edgar Renteria.

I don't pay enough attention to pretend to know, and I'm surprised I care.

Why'd they do this? is this a good trade for Atlanta?

Well they plan to start McCann at catcher next year, which I think is a good thing. They also need to address their bullpen, hope these kids can get there, but I don't know if either are really going to be the closer which is their biggest need in pitching. Maybe setup men, or late relief as a secondary option until one can develop as the closer?

I'm not impressed with this deal. Neither of the pitchers are anything to write home about, and this is a bad time to be trading catchers given that there are so many available right now. I would have kept Estrada for a while longer at least, and hoped to move him in a better deal later. McCann should be a good catcher, but it's always a bit of a risk going with someone that young and that inexperienced behind the plate.

Yep, I didn't have a problem trading Estrada, but I would like to have had a proven pitcher for him instead of hope.

Estrada wasn't as good last year, but still solid and would have been nice to have for another year with McCann.

Estrada wasn`t the same last year after getting bowled over in an Angels game.
